A Mexican grill on Washington Street
Apache Mexican Grill sits at 180 South Washington Street in downtown Oxford. The menu runs from quick lunch plates to the Molcajete Apache, a stone bowl of steak, chicken, shrimp and chorizo cooked in ranchero sauce and brought to the table with rice, beans and warm tortillas.
The caldo de pollo starts with homemade chicken broth. The newer dishes lean toward the coast: 7 Mares seafood stew, ceviche, shrimp cocktail served in a margarita glass, and a whole fried mojarra. Kids get their own menu, and the party trays feed anywhere from five people to fifty.
